When you
heard the name of Hong Kong, What will you image the place?
As I keep
my blog with a lot of cuisine articles, I will image the food of Hong Kong; Wan
tan mien, Cantonese cuisines, Dim sum or some tropical sweets. One day, I had
told about Cathay Pacific and the food of Hong Kong with my friend in Manila,
over our glasses of San Migel, beer of Philippines. We had immediately made the
reservation of the business class ticket and running to the Manila
international airport.
After
reservation, it took just two hour and half till arrived the Cathay Pacific
lounge at NAIA T3.
The weekend
of Manila was changed to the Weekend in Hong Kong.
The all
thing I just like to do in Hong Kong was to enjoy the Wan tan mien and Dim sum.
Next morning, we were so disappointed on the hotel restaurant China Mainlander
crowded for breakfast.
One street at Causeway bay, Hong Kong
We found
small local noodle stand near to our hotel. The simple interior and exterior
were very familiar to us just preferring simple breakfast. In the stand, there
were several sets of table and chair and small fire place. The middle aged lady
served us as our orders. She was able to speak in English a little. I had the
Wan tan mien which was Hong Kong noodle with Wan tan. The noodle was yellow and
sticky like rubber. I sometime remind the texture of this noodle when I found
the word of Hong Kong. The soup was also nice, soup stock was come from fish,
was not salty and very soft for our stomach.
In these
days, all things in Hong Kong are increasing in the price. On my last visiting,
the price of normal Wan tan mien was around 45 HKD or less. The size of bowl or
amount of the noodle were increased. This trend may be come from the favourite
of the Mainlander.
The menu cards. several English or Japanese words were mistaken.
The interior. very typical but clean.
Wan tan mien. Wan tan is placed on the bottom of the bowl.
