Sushi Bar in the Airline lounge
The terminal 2 of the Narita international airport is the desert for eating. You will find several coffee shops or bars but there is nothing to eat except airline lounge in transit or departure area after the seculity control and immigration. If you want to taste Sushi or Tempura on your transit at Narita, you should be admitted to Japan. I like to hear about entering the country just to eat Sushi or other foods, but that is very inconvinient for the travellar.
For the holders of oneworld Emerald status, there is an oasis in the JAL first class lounge in the Main building. They provided the Sushi bar in the First class lounge on the third floor.
On the Sushi bar, they will serve Maguro(tuna), Ebi(shrimp) and Tamago(egg, Japanese omlett). The variation is very poor but you will be entertained the chef's technique at the counter.
This service must be homage for the on-board Sushi bar or Sushi service in the JAL first class.
I don't know for certain whether there used to be some Sushi bar in the restriction area.

Cathay Pacific business class lounge, Bangkok, Thailand
Cathay Pacific airways is renovating their lounge all over the world. The first one was the Tokyo Haneda lounge. The second was Manila. I had already reported the lounge of Haneda from where the passenger can look the Mt. Fuji.
The renovation is produced by the studio Ilse, the London based designer team. The concept of the New Cathay Pacific lounge is as staying in the living room of the passengers' own home. The new campaign "Life Well Travelled" has started on the same quarter.
The design is simple but warm. Using wood or limestone showed the modern atmosphere and nice contrast against the metal fabric of the airliner.
As the other CX lounge, they will serve the Wan tan mien noodle. Who would like to take this, when flying back to Hong kong where they will serve the lovely noodle at the noodle shop in the airport or city centre.
In this lounge, the passengers will enjoy the Thai noodle, Pat thai.
The noodle bar corner is the signature area of the Cathay Pacific lounge.
At the Noodle Bar counter, the contrast of red brown wood and green tiles were very lovely.

The Bar counter is similar as the Manila and Tokyo. The Thai staff will serve you with their hospitality.

Cathay Pacific placed a lot of lounge all
over the world where they have the flights. The North America is the major long
haul route in the CX.
The interior was the prior typical design
of the Cathay Pacific lounge. The wall was white, the marble long counters and
noodle bar.
On my visiting, there were a lot of
passengers to waiting for the CX flight. They had some bowls of noodle from the
noodle bar as the other Cathay pacific lounge. The flight was mid-night and the
passengers looked very tired and spent their each time as they liked.
I had a bowl of wan tan mien on the white marble
counter located in the centre of the lounge. The high counter was similar to one
in the Narita lounge. The noodle has nice texture but a little bit boiled. I was satisfied on the pre-flight noodle and the last meal in the United States.

The Pier First class lounge, Cathay Pacific lounge, Hong Kong airport, Hong Kong
The new lounge, new concept, new menu at Hong Kong airport
The Pier lounge of Cathay Pacific was renovated on this early summer. The atmosphere or furniture was very comfortable like as our living room with modern Asian concept. The orange righting was very different from the white shinny public area in the Hong Kong airport modern buildings.
The interior has shown natural and soft
quality. The brown wood panels are nicely matched with the fabric of sofa or
other furniture. The orange yellow light showed lovely relaxed atmosphere. From
the large window, you will find the nose of Boeing 777-300ER which is the
flagship of Cathay Pacific.
The Bar corner has U-shape counter and
lower table sets. In the counter, the Hong Kong lady will serve some cocktail or
champagne as well as Cathay delight.

Moving your eyes to the right side, you will find the sets of table and sofa in front of the whole height windows. In the evening, the warm lamp will shine our table or your hand or drinks. There were also self-serviced food corner displayed with the several fruit or light meals.

The Cathay Pacific lounge in Haneda airport, Tokyo, Japan
The lounge which has the view of Mt. Fuji
Airport lounges are located in all
over the world. This new lounge was opened on last March. This lounge was the first
open with the new CI concept of the Cathay Pacific. This is one of the best lounges
in Haneda airport. The lounge users are served as the luxury hotel because of
the operation by the Hotel Okura.
The interior concept was modern
Asian. The contrast among brown wood based furniture, black leather and green
leaves of the trees are beautiful. When we look at outside of the window, we
can get the view of the planes take-off and landing. Getting view of opposite
side, there is small but beautiful view of Mt. Fuji. This lounge is the only
lounge we get the view of Mt. Fuji.
As the typical Cathay Pacific
lounges, the noodle bar was also served in this lounge. The Hotel Okura is the
famous hotel as the cuisine service hotel as Cantonese, French and Japanese.
The Toh-ka-lim is the popular restaurant and is the signature symbol of the
Cantonese in Tokyo. The basis of Cantonese was put into the noodle bar.
The French toast is the signature breakfast
menu in Hotel Okura Tokyo. This lounge also served as the Hotel Okura style.
The toast was coloured beautiful egg yellow with right brown baked.
The JAL first class lounge in Haneda
airport is the luxury Airline lounge, serving the shoes shine, shower, beverage
and food. I prefer the CX lounge, but the combination of JAL lounge and CX lounge
will be the best way.
